Commercials are the best way to promote and market any product to possible customers. Yet ads were not the same years ago, as they are now. Be it the cheesy songs or the comical taglines; retro ads seem pretty embarrassing when you watch them today.

For #throwbackthursday, we bring to you such funny, unusual and sometimes disturbing classic advertisements from the years gone by. Few are weird and some are just plain ridiculous. You will find it difficult to believe that these vintage ads were real!

Pringles: Featuring a young and shirtless Brad Pitt in one of his earliest appearances; this Pringles ad will definitely crack you up. Be it the song or the dance, everything about this ad is funny.

Sprite: This is a 1987 Commercial for the soft drink Sprite. It’s crazy, weird, quirky and completely hilarious. The slogan of Sprite!

Magnavox VideoWriter: Back when typewriters were the norm, this commercial made people say hello to video typewriting! Looking back, this ad seems pretty funny.

Winston Cigarettes: Back when cigarette ads were the rage, Flintstones promoted Smoking! Watch the beloved characters sell cigarettes in this 1950s Retro Ad.

Nike Air Jordan: The Nike Air Jordan VII 7 commercial has Bugs Bunny playing basketball! If you loved Bugs Bunny growing up then this one will make you nostalgic.

Wendy’s: Where’s the beef? This classic commercial for Wendy’s burger assures you that you’ll never have to ask where the beef is again!
